Stacker
Job SummaryResponsible for bundling, handling and stacking of printed product.Duties/ResponsibilitiesBuild neat tight bundles and organized skidsOperation of sheets and restack products on skids.Learn to fill out skid tags and load tags.Inspect sheets in stacker for marking, hickeys, wrinkles, dry-ups, bad cut-off and write the current count. These press pulls need to be taken 4 times an hour, signed and dated and put in the box located by the stacker machine. These pulls must be taken from the stacker machine and not off the belts.When SAMPLES are being pulled, the Stacker is responsible to take 2 pulls and must inspect them for any defects. If defects are found, he or she should immediately tell the lead press operator. After inspecting the samples, sign and date them and put them in the box located by the stacker machine.Assist the First Press Operator on maintenance days with cleaning and other assigned tasks.Learn and understand webbing up.Learn to assist in plate and blanket installation.Keep work area clean and orderly.Any other duties requested by First Press Operator or Supervisor.Follow all required Safety Procedures such as: required PPE, Ergonomics, Chemical Hazards, etc.Perform job in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employeesPrompt and regular attendance.Basic QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability requiredA High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred but not required.Up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent of education and experience.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Physical RequirementsThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.Mandatory hearing protection while in the plant.Mandatory safety shoes while working on production floorDuring normal production, direct chemical exposure is moderate. However, during setting up and cleaning, Press Department personnel are exposed to a number of chemicals including ink and blanket wash.Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and chemical protective gloves are required with use of any chemicals.Required standing for the majority of the shift.Lifting maximum is approximately 50 pounds.Temperature ranges are on the warm side all year long.Dust exposure in the Bailer Room.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk.The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
