Job Overview
This is a full-time remote role for a Project Engineer. The Project Engineer is a technical leader responsible for designing, delivering, and overseeing complex infrastructure and cloud initiatives for healthcare clients. This role combines deep technical expertise with project execution, client communication, and team mentorship.
The Project Engineer serves as a subject matter expert across cloud platforms, networking, security, and virtualization, while also guiding project teams to successful, timely delivery. This individual sets the standard for engineering excellence and plays a key role in advancing our project delivery capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Technical Leadership
Lead the implementation of infrastructure solutions across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments
Deploy Microsoft-based solutions including Azure, Microsoft 365, and Windows Server environments
Lead cloud migrations, including on-premise to Azure transitions and modernization initiatives
Design and implement secure, scalable network architectures (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, segmentation)
Oversee virtualization environments including VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V
Client Engagement
Serve as a technical advisor to clients, clearly communicating solutions, risks, and recommendations
Collaborate with Project Managers and Account Managers to align technical delivery with business objectives
Translate complex technical concepts into clear, client-friendly communication
Project Execution
Lead and participate in project planning, scoping, and technical assessments
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with best practices
Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation for all project work
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues during project execution
Mentorship & Team Development
Mentor and support fellow engineers and technicians, setting standards for technical excellence and professionalism
Provide guidance on troubleshooting methodologies, documentation, and client communication
Contribute to internal process improvements and standardization

Cloud & Microsoft Technologies
Microsoft Azure (IaaS, networking, Azure AD, virtual desktops)
Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Intune, identity and device management)
PowerShell scripting and automation
Cloud migration strategies and execution
Infrastructure & Virtualization
VMware (ESXi) and Microsoft Hyper-V
Server architecture, storage (SAN/iSCSI), and backup solutions (Veeam, Datto, Acronis, etc.)
Disaster recovery planning and implementation
Networking & Security
Network design and troubleshooting (routing, switching, VLANs, DHCP, DNS)
Firewall configuration and management
Site-to-site and remote access VPNs
Security best practices, endpoint protection, and compliance considerations
Systems & End-User Technologies
Windows Server (2012–2022) and Active Directory
Group Policy management
Email systems and migrations (Exchange, Microsoft 365)
Endpoint and mobile device management (Intune, iOS, Android)
Qualifications
5–8+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems engineering, or related roles
Proven experience leading technical projects and implementations
Strong expertise in Microsoft cloud technologies and enterprise infrastructure
Experience working in healthcare IT environments is highly preferred
Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, VMware, networking) are a plus
