Senior Android Developer
Title: Senior Android DeveloperLocation: San Diego, CA (Onsite)About the Role:We are seeking a Senior Android Developer to build and evolve high-quality native Android applications. You will take features from concept to release, combining strong hands-on engineering in Kotlin and Core Java with a proactive, ownership-driven approach.This role suits an engineer who takes pride in craftsmanship — someone who owns their work end-to-end, anticipates problems before they surface, and drives tasks to completion with minimal supervision.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain native Android applications with a focus on performance, stability, and user experience.Own assigned features and tasks end-to-end — from technical design through development, testing, and release.Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code in Kotlin and Core Java.Collaborate with product, design, backend, and QA teams to deliver features on schedule.Diagnose and resolve defects and production issues across the app stack.Uphold engineering quality through code reviews, testing, and adherence to Android best practices.Tech Stack:Languages: Kotlin, Core JavaNative Android: Android SDK, Jetpack components (ViewModel, Lifecycle, Room, Navigation), Jetpack Compose and/or XML layoutsArchitecture & tooling: MVVM / Clean Architecture, dependency injection (Hilt/Dagger), Android Studio, Gradle, GitIntegration: REST APIs (Retrofit/OkHttp), push notifications, Play Store release workflowsRequired Skills & Experience:5–10 years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong focus on native Android development.Proven, verifiable results delivering Android applications to production — e.g., shipped apps, measurable performance or quality improvements.Strong programming skills in Kotlin and Core Java.Deep understanding of the Android SDK, application lifecycle, memory management, and performance optimization.Experience with modern Android architecture patterns (MVVM, Jetpack) and automated testing (JUnit, Espresso).Experience building and/or leveraging AI agents (e.g., agentic workflows, LLM-based automation, AI-assisted engineering tools) to improve productivity and outcomes.Ability to work onsite in San Diego, CA.What We Look For:Strong sense of ownership — takes end-to-end responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks.Self-motivated and proactive; able to operate independently with minimal supervision.A good team player who collaborates effectively across teams, geographies, and time zones.Proven track record of delivering measurable results in previous roles.
