Responsibilities include consultation teachers, mentors, staff, and parents to provide support in the following areas:Support the social, emotional and academic needs of a caseload of approximately 300 studentsExercise the use of crisis intervention strategiesConduct individual and group counseling sessionsProvide academic support to all students and be involved with students who require accommodation provided through IEPs, 504s or other special needsAssist students with completion of Xello and career based learningAssist with end of the year activities related to 8th grade honors and awardsWork with at-risk populations by identifying students early and providing appropriate support to student achievementActively participates in a diverse learning community that embraces acceptance and supports students' emotional and social growthConsult and collaborates effectively with parents/guardians, teachers, administrators and other educational/community resources regarding students with identified concerns and needsOther duties as assignedThis position reports to the AMS Building PrincipalAttachment(s):26-27 AMS Counselor #1 .pdf
