Senior Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails)Location: East Coast USAThe RoleOur clients are hiring experienced backend engineers who have worked on production systems at scale as their core responsibility—not side projects or occasional exposure.Ideal Background5+ years of backend engineering experience (Ruby on Rails preferred)Experience working on high-traffic B2C or SaaS productsStrong understanding of web fundamentals and scalable systemsExposure to monolithic architectures and/or scaling challengesComfortable operating in a startup environment (fast-paced, ambiguous, high ownership)Experience in scale-ups or high-growth companiesActively using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor) in day-to-day developmentRequirements Comfortable working with NSFW product domains5+ years of backend engineering experience (RoR strongly preferred)Proven experience with high-scale production systems (beyond CRUD/internal tools)Fully committed (no concurrent full-time roles or major side projects)Availability within CET ±3 hoursEvaluation Criteria1. Technical DepthStrong backend experience with real-world production systemsClear understanding of their own contributions (not just team outcomes)Experience with scaling, performance optimisation, and architecture decisionsFor frontend-adjacent roles: familiarity with Turbo, Stimulus, or Hotwire is a plus2.
