An innovative drone technology company is looking for a Mechatronics Engineer to join its multidisciplinary team.This position involves the design, development, testing, and optimisation of advanced systems and components, requiring a strong foundation across mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and software development.Key ResponsibilitiesRapidly assess and validate engineering concepts across multiple disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, software, and manufacturing engineering.Develop prototypes, investigate failures, and support the transition of successful designs into production.Design, implement, and test complex electromechanical systems.Manage projects with a high degree of autonomy and technical ownership.Lead design reviews, perform engineering analysis, engage with suppliers, and develop and execute hardware test plans.Support customer demonstrations and technical presentations when required.Apply fundamental engineering and physics principles to technical decision-making.Contribute across a broad range of technical activities in a hands-on environment.Essential RequirementsBachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.Experience working on technically demanding projects, whether through industry, research, or advanced academic programmes.Experience developing sophisticated electromechanical systems such as robotics, autonomous platforms, wearable devices, electric propulsion systems, or similar technologies.Ability to interpret and work with schematics, wiring diagrams, layouts, and system block diagrams.Strong understanding of core engineering principles and analytical problem-solving.Desirable Skills and ExperienceAdditional qualifications, specialisations, or interdisciplinary study in relevant engineering fields.Experience using mechanical design software such as SolidWorks, NX, Fusion 360, or equivalent CAD tools.Experience with electronic design software such as Altium Designer, KiCad, or similar platforms.Hands-on prototyping skills, including 3D printing, machining, soldering, PCB assembly, and cable harnessing.Knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers, power electronics, and system integration.Ability to analyse and characterise electronic circuits at both schematic and hardware levels.Familiarity with wireless communication technologies.Experience with embedded communication protocols, including USB, SPI, I²C, CAN/CAN FD, UART, RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485.Knowledge of motor control systems, including brushed and brushless DC motor drives and servo systems.Practical experience using laboratory and test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, and multimeters.
