This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient legal operations, maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and supporting risk management initiatives within a fast-paced behavioral healthcare environment.Essential Job Functions/Duties/ResponsibilitiesProvides direct administrative and operational support to the General Counsel Assists with drafting, formatting, reviewing, and managing legal documents, including contracts, agreements, policies, and correspondence. Coordinates contract lifecycle management, including tracking, renewals, and execution. Maintains and organizes legal files, records, and document management systems. Assists with regulatory compliance efforts, including preparation for audits, surveys, and licensing requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, state regulations). Supports responses to subpoenas, record requests, and other legal inquiries in coordination with internal departments. Conducts basic legal research and summarizes findings as needed. Tracks and manages deadlines related to legal matters, filings, and compliance requirements. Serves as a liaison between the legal department and internal stakeholders, including HR, operations, and clinical leadership. Assists with risk management initiatives, incident tracking, and internal investigations as directed. Supports corporate governance activities, including board-related documentation and meeting preparation. Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive legal, patient, and organizational information.Perform all other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: NoMINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, Experience, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to perform the job. Education: A bachelor’s degree is preferred. Experience: Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of experience in a legal assistant, paralegal, or compliance role, preferably in healthcare or a regulated industry. Demonstrates strong understanding of legal terminology, contract management, and administrative procedures. Demonstrates familiarity with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2) strongly preferred.Skills: Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with document management or contract management systems preferred. Maintains a high level of discretion and professionalism.
