Location: Oakbrook Terrace, ILJob Type: ContractJob SummaryWe are seeking a motivated Junior Engineer to support engineering projects for our client in Oakbrook Terrace, IL. This is an entry-level engineering position designed for candidates who are looking to gain hands-on experience while working alongside senior engineers and project teams.The Junior Engineer will assist with the planning, design, analysis, and implementation of engineering projects. Responsibilities include supporting technical documentation, performing engineering calculations and analysis, assisting with project coordination, and helping ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards and regulations. Entry-level engineers typically work under the supervision of experienced engineers while developing practical engineering skills and contributing to project deliverables.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist senior engineers with engineering design, analysis, and technical problem solving for assigned projects.Support the development, review, and maintenance of engineering documentation, including drawings, reports, technical specifications, and calculations.Perform engineering calculations, modeling, and simulations to support project development and design validation.Conduct research and data analysis to support engineering studies and design improvements.Assist with evaluating materials, equipment, and systems to determine suitability for project requirements.Support project planning, scheduling, and coordination activities with cross-functional teams.Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other technical professionals to ensure project milestones are achieved.Assist in field inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of engineering systems or equipment when required.Help ensure all engineering work complies with industry standards, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute ideas for optimizing processes and engineering solutions.Maintain organized engineering records and documentation for project tracking and reporting.Stay current with advancements in engineering tools, technology, and industry best practices.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial, or related discipline).0–2 years of engineering experience or relevant internship/co-op experience.Basic understanding of engineering principles, calculations, and technical problem solving.Strong analytical and organizational skills.Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical documents, and specifications.Preferred QualificationsInternship or co-op experience in engineering or utility-related projects.Familiarity with engineering software tools (AutoCAD, MATLAB, or similar).Experience with technical reporting or data analysis.Knowledge of project management principles.Pay Details: $30.00 to $47.00 per hourBenefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
