Meat prep / Pit Crew
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Meat Prep / Pit Crew member to join our team. This role involves preparing meat products, assisting with the operation of the pit area, and supporting overall kitchen and food service functions. Ideal candidates will have experience in food handling and preparation, with a passion for culinary excellence and safety standards.
Trim, season, and prepare meats for smoking
Operate and monitor smokers (training provided )
Follow recipes and portion standards precisely
Complete daily prep tasks (marinades, rubs, etc.)
Maintain a clean and organized prep area
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
Assist the kitchen team as needed during service
Assist with inventory management by organizing supplies and ingredients needed for daily operations
Support catering or special event food preparation as needed
Ensure proper storage of meat products to maintain freshness and prevent cross-contamination
Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining quality standards
Qualifications
Kitchen experience preferred, but we will train the right person
Ability to lift 70+ pounds
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and consistency
Dependable and punctual
Early morning availability is a plus
Skills
Knowledge of food preparation, and cooking techniques
Strong food handling skills with an understanding of food safety procedures
Previous restaurant, catering or kitchen experience preferred
Proficiency in knife skills and meal preparation techniques
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent organizational skills for managing inventory and supplies
Familiarity with food service standards and sanitation regulations
Ability to work as part of a team to ensure smooth kitchen operations

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
