Salesforce DevOps Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Salesforce DevOps Engineer to support and optimize Salesforce development, testing, and deployment processes through automation, CI/CD pipeline management, and environment governance. This role is responsible for ensuring secure, efficient, and reliable deployments across multiple Salesforce orgs while maintaining synchronization and data integrity throughout the release lifecycle.The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Salesforce DevOps tools such as Copado, Gearset, Jenkins, and Salesforce DX, along with strong experience in release management, version control, environment management, and deployment automation. This position will collaborate closely with development, QA, operations, and business teams to execute weekly, sprint-based, and project releases while driving continuous improvement across the Salesforce platform ecosystem.This is a 12-month contract and is hybrid, 1-2 days onsite in College Park, MD. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce development and deploymentsConfigure and maintain automated deployment pipelines using tools such as Copado, Gearset, Jenkins, or Azure DevOpsManage version control, branching strategies, merges, and source code repositories using Git/GitHub or BitbucketCoordinate and execute end-to-end Salesforce releases across development, sandbox, testing, and production environmentsDeploy Apex code, Lightning components, flows, and configuration changes across Salesforce orgsMonitor deployment success, troubleshoot release issues, and resolve merge conflictsEnsure all changes are properly back-promoted across lower-level environments to maintain synchronization and consistencySupport sandbox refreshes, environment readiness, and data seeding activitiesImplement governance, audit controls, rollback strategies, and release best practicesMaintain secure deployment processes with proper segregation of duties and controlled accessConduct release audits and monitor environments for unauthorized changesCollaborate with developers, QA teams, administrators, and business stakeholders to support release planning and executionDrive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline deployment automation and reduce operational riskSupport data backup, migration, and recovery processes to ensure business continuityRequired Qualifications5+ years of experience as a Salesforce DevOps Engineer, Salesforce Developer, or related roleStrong knowledge of Salesforce architecture, metadata management, and multi-org deployment strategiesHands-on experience with:CopadoGearsetJenkinsAzure DevOpsAutoRABITSalesforce DX (SFDX)Git/GitHub or BitbucketExperience managing CI/CD pipelines and automated release processesStrong understanding of Salesforce deployments, change sets, ANT migration tools, and source-driven developmentExperience working in Agile/Scrum environments with sprint-based delivery modelsAbility to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced enterprise environmentsStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and collaboration abilities across technical and business teamsPreferred QualificationsExperience implementing DevOps governance frameworks and release management best practicesKnowledge of rollback planning, deployment risk mitigation, and environment synchronization strategiesExperience mentoring technical teams on DevOps processes and release standardsFamiliarity with data backup, migration, and sandbox data management toolsPrior higher education or enterprise-scale Salesforce environment experience is a plusRequired CertificationsSalesforce Certified AdministratorCopado Fundamentals ICopado Fundamentals IIPreferred CertificationsSalesforce Certified Platform App BuilderSalesforce Certified Platform DeveloperSalesforce Certified DeveloperCopado Extension BuilderCopado AI CertificationEducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field preferred
