Job Title: Mechanical Engineer 2Location: Lafayette, INJob Type: ContractExpected hours per week: 40 hours per weekSchedule (include days, hours, onsite/hybrid or remote): 5 days onsitePay Range: $30 to $38 per hour depending on benefits selectedJob Description:Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Engineering Support Engineer to assist with product structure management, prototype coordination, and cross-functional collaboration across engineering and support teams. This role will support product development and lifecycle activities, including BOM management, documentation updates, and coordination of prototype builds and testing efforts.This is a great opportunity for an early-career engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and enjoys working across multiple functions.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) spreadsheets to support pricing and product structureCollaborate with component and platform teams to ensure accurate and efficient product configurationCoordinate prototype part management activities, including ordering, tracking, and shipping to support build and testing effortsPartner with cross-functional teams to maintain and update technical documentation, including manuals, guides, and service-related materialsSupport product development initiatives by tracking deliverables and ensuring alignment across teamsLead or support meetings with engineering stakeholders to drive progress and resolve issuesAssist in managing product lifecycle documentation and supporting continuous improvement effortsTeam EnvironmentWork within a collaborative engineering team supporting new product introduction (NPI), new technology initiatives, and continuous product improvementsPartner closely with engineers, customer support teams, and cross-functional stakeholdersOperate under the guidance of a team lead while contributing independently to assigned tasksRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology2–4 years of relevant experience (internships count toward experience)Strong attention to detail with experience managing data, documentation, or product structuresAbility to work both independently and within cross-functional teamsTop SkillsStrong initiative and ownership mindsetExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentAdditional SkillsExperience working with BOMs, product structures, or engineering documentationStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsComfortable interacting with engineers and leadership teamsAbility to work with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality outputWork EnvironmentPrimarily office-based roleCollaborative, team-oriented environment with frequent cross-functional interactionKey Performance IndicatorsAccuracy and completeness of BOM and documentation updatesTimely coordination of prototype parts and support for testing activitiesEffective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teamsAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines independentlyAdditional InformationEarly-career candidates encouraged to applyOpportunity to gain exposure to product development, engineering operations, and lifecycle supportBenefits: 80 hours paid time off, paid holidays, medical insurance contributions, dental vision and our 401k retirement savings plan#INDOEM#LI-EK1
