Security Service TechnicianLocation: Syracuse, NYJob Type: Full-TimeCompensation: $35.00–$45.90/hourAbout the RoleA growing systems integration company is seeking an experienced Security Service Technician to support existing customers throughout the Syracuse market.This role will focus on service, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, programming, system upgrades, and small project work involving access control, video surveillance, intrusion, and related electronic security systems.The ideal candidate is a strong troubleshooter who can work independently in the field, communicate well with customers, and handle both hardware and software-related service issues.Key ResponsibilitiesRespond to scheduled, emergency, and occasional after-hours service callsDiagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, wiring, communication, and programming issuesRepair or replace defective equipment and componentsService, integrate, and program access control systemsPerform preventative maintenance on installed security systemsSupport system checkout on both new and existing installationsAssist with smaller security installation projects as neededSupport system upgrades, custom integrations, database changes, and system auditsConfigure and support network-connected security equipmentAnalyze customer issues and recommend appropriate repair or upgrade solutionsComplete accurate and detailed service reports to support invoicing and job cost trackingCoordinate with other technicians and internal teams to support strong customer serviceFollow applicable safety requirements and field proceduresQualifications3–5 years of experience servicing, integrating, and programming access control systemsStrong electronic security troubleshooting abilitySolid programming skillsExperience diagnosing both equipment and software-related issuesStrong mechanical and electrical aptitudeAbility to work independently and manage customer-facing service callsStrong communication and customer service skillsValid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordAbility to travel regularly to local jobsites with minimal overnight travelHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalent experiencePreferred Systems ExperienceAccess ControlAMAGLenel / LenelS2GenetecSoftware House CCURES2Video SurveillanceMilestoneGenetecIntrusionDMPBoschWhat They’re Looking ForA technician who can independently diagnose and resolve customer issuesSomeone strong in access control programming and integrationA customer-facing professional who can explain technical issues and recommended solutions clearlyA technician comfortable balancing service calls, preventative maintenance, emergency response, and smaller project installationsSomeone capable of troubleshooting across hardware, software, wiring, and networkingTop 3 Must-Haves3–5 years of access control service, integration, and programming experienceStrong troubleshooting ability across hardware and softwareAbility to independently manage customer-facing service callsTop 3 Nice-to-HavesExperience with Lenel, Genetec, CCURE, AMAG, or S2CCTV experience with Milestone or GenetecIntrusion experience with DMP or Bosch
