Senior Software Engineer II - Front End
Overview:
As a Senior Software Engineer II at Compass, you will contribute to a leading end-to-end real estate platform used by thousands of agents. You'll own the design and delivery of strategic product surfaces, dashboards, and notifications, working across domains from client tools to CRM. You will integrate AI-driven insights and data pipelines to automate workflows and improve agent productivity. You'll champion engineering excellence through reviews and automated tests, while mentoring peers and documenting architectures. Responsibilities:
- End-to-end design and build of dashboards, notifications, and reporting interfaces to enable actionable insights
- Define, decompose, and lead delivery of complex projects across the full stack
- Incorporate AI/automation by integrating models, data pipelines, and telemetry to automate workflows
- Perform code and design reviews, write automated tests, and improve codebases for performance and quality
- Own domain ownership: produce architecture runbooks and specs, maintain services lifecycle
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor peers to raise the engineering bar
Key requirements:
- 5+ years of professional software development (or 3+ exceptional execution)
- Deep frontend capabilities with modern frameworks (e.g., React), solid UI/UX and browser performance, understanding of backend APIsPython experience (valued for data pipelines and AI/LLM workflows)
- Kafka experience is a plus
- Experience building high-throughput user workflow tools, transactional systems, or SaaS products
