Job Overview
Position: Ophthalmic Technician – Optometry
Location: Boston, MA
Duration: 13 weeks with the possible extension
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Hours/Week: 40 hours
Summary:
We are seeking a Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COA, COT, or COMT) with at least one year of clinical experience to join their Optometry team on a 13-week contract. The technician will support ophthalmologists and optometrists by preparing patients for eye exams, performing diagnostic tests, and assisting in clinical procedures.
Job Duties
Escorting patients, taking histories, visual acuity testing
Tonometry (tonopen, applanation), administering drops
Imaging & testing: visual fields, OCT, fundus photography, A/B scan, autorefraction, topography
Refractions (this is explicitly required)
Room stocking, equipment cleaning/maintenance
Supporting patient flow and provider schedules
Participating in training and CE
Requirements
High school diploma or GED
COA, COT, or COMT (certified by JCAHPO)
Minimum 1 year as Ophthalmic Technician
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $1,600.00 - $1,850.00 per week
