Certified Water/Wastewater Operator

The Certified Operator is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and management of water and wastewater treatment plant. This role ensures the water and wastewater treatment processes comply with environmental regulations and standards. The operator will monitor and control the quality of water and wastewater, conduct routine inspections, and perform necessary maintenance to ensure the plant's smooth operation.Pay range: $25-30/hourWhat We Offer:$1,000 sign-on bonus90% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage5% automatic company 401(k) contributionCompany-paid life insuranceShort-term and long-term disability coverageStable, essential industry with long-term career opportunitySupportive team environment with hands-on field work and trainingPrimary ResponsibilitiesOperate, maintain, and monitor equipment and processes to ensure proper operationConduct regular test checks on chemical levels, water quality, and equipment operationsMonitor water quality throughout the facility to ensure compliance with regulatory requirementsQuality control by performing routine testing of water and wastewater to ensure compliance with regulationsCompile and enter plant operation and water quality data into SAMS system for use in required reportsRecord and report accurate operational data and performance metrics Perform routine, corrective, and preventive maintenance on treatment equipment and systems, including minor electrical and mechanical repairs, SCADA system, and variable frequency drivesOperate and maintain chemical feed pumps for accurate dosingOversee grounds and building maintenanceRespond to emergency situations and system failuresTravel to assigned plants in the local areaWork various shifts as the treatment plant operates 24/7Adhere to safety protocols and proceduresAll other duties as assignedEducation/SkillsHigh School diploma or GEDValid Water/Wastewater Operator CertificationValid Driver LicenseFamiliarity with and the ability to learn industry softwareWorking ConditionsAbility to work in extreme weather conditionsMust be able to work in confined spacesMust be able to lift heavy objects up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding tasksExposure to potential hazards such as chemicals, fumes, and odors
