Electronics Test Technician

Viaanix is looking for a hands-on Electronics Test Technician to test electronic hardware, embedded devices, firmware, IoT systems, and software applications. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with electronic boards, sensors, wiring, test equipment, embedded devices, and connected systems. The technician will work closely with hardware, firmware, and software engineers to identify problems, reproduce failures, verify fixes, and make sure complete systems work correctly from end to end. This is not just a checklist-testing position. We want someone who can understand how a system is supposed to work, think through real-world conditions, and help find issues before products reach customers. Key Responsibilities * Perform hands-on testing of electronic boards, PCB assemblies, prototypes, and finished devices. * Test embedded firmware and verify device behavior. * Check inputs, outputs, sensors, relays, communication ports, power states, and device functions. * Perform functional testing, system testing, regression testing, and validation testing. * Test complete IoT systems including hardware, firmware, wireless communications, APIs, cloud platforms, and web applications. * Identify, reproduce, document, and report bugs clearly. * Provide developers with clear evidence and repeatable steps to reproduce issues. * Verify engineering fixes and perform regression testing. * Build and maintain test harnesses, test fixtures, wiring setups, and simple automated test tools. * Use Python or scripting tools to communicate with devices, generate test data, and automate repetitive testing. * Test edge cases such as: * Power cycles * Loss of communication * Invalid inputs * Sensor failures * Network interruptions * Low-voltage conditions * Device recovery behavior * Use tools such as: * Digital multimeters * Bench power supplies * Oscilloscopes * Logic analyzers * Serial terminals * USB-to-serial adapters * Maintain test documentation, test results, and defect reports. * Assist with prototype builds and engineering validation. * Use AI tools to assist with troubleshooting, scripting, test-case creation, documentation, and analysis. We want someone who naturally asks: “How should this device work, what could go wrong, and how can I prove it is working correctly?” This person should be comfortable moving between an electronic board, firmware behavior, communications interface, and software application and understanding how everything works together as one system.
