Teacher AssistantJob Summary: As the Summer Advantage Teacher Assistant, you are responsible for serving as a mentor to our scholars. As a constant for our scholars throughout the day, our Teacher Assistants are expected to build a strong rapport with our scholars which uniquely position them to support scholars' success throughout the day.Job Responsibilities:Ability to work the entirety of the program (including attending training prior to program start)Responsible for building a rapport with their scholars that supports positive behavior and providing scholar supervision throughout the daySupport scholar arrival and dismissal, lead breakfast and community time and escort scholars to lunch and/ or recessResponsible for supporting both morning academic lesson plans and afternoon enrichment lesson plans, ensuring scholars are paying attention and engagedLead a small group workshop as assigned by their Academic Lead TeacherResponsible for supporting Friday field trips, college visits and service learning projectsAssist in the creation and maintenance of a healthy, safe and engaging classroom cultureExperience and Education Requirements :Experience working with youthAssociate degree or some college preferredAbility to maintain a professional appearanceDemonstrates strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to implementing the SA program model with fidelity.Maintains a positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.About Summer Advantage:Summer Advantage USA is a non-profit organization that runs high-quality summer learning programs for children in grades K-8.
