Job Summary - About the RoleAssist with enhancing the physical appearance and experience of the Park District for residents and visitors to our parks and facilities.This position has a minimum hiring age of 16 years old.Knowledge, Skills & ExperienceThis position is well suited for someone with a pleasant personality. Must be reliable and show initiative, tact, and productivity. Must be able to learn the proper use of hand tools, grounds equipment and riding mowers.Required: High school graduate or in process. Must be at least 16 years old. A valid State driver's license is necessary. Must have or obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification and Mandated Reporter certification within 30 days of hire.Essential Functions of the PositionPark District CornerstonesFollow all departmental safety rules that pertain to the duties performed and support all aspects of Park District's safety and risk management program.Work cooperatively and collaboratively with residents, colleagues, the public, PDRMA and other agencies or organizations as delegated.Recommends improvements and efficiencies to better accomplish individual and district goals in the best interests of the St. Charles Park District community.Comply with park district policies and administrative procedures.ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction and supervision of the Superintendent of Parks and the Assistant Superintendents of Parks, the Seasonal Parks General Maintenance Associate shall complete all assigned duties to the best of their abilities, and be ever mindful of the best interests of the St. Charles Park District and of fellow employees. This position requires extensive knowledge and ability to:Maintain assigned areas and facilities as directed by Supervisory personnel.Be responsible to the Superintendent of Parks, Assistant Superintendents of Parks and any other supervisor as assigned.Willingly work over and above required daily hours when necessary.Operate equipment as needed or required.Work cooperatively and harmoniously with the general public and cooperating agencies, as well as fellow employees.Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Follow all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed and support all aspects of the Park District's safety program.
