Service / Repair Technician
We have an immediate opening for a QC / Repair Technician in our Bellingham, WA facility. This position is primarily responsible for troubleshooting and repairing returned products and tools, while also supporting product development efforts, prototyping, and general facility improvements.This is a hands-on role suited for someone who enjoys working across a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and shop-related tasks.Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Inspection & Repair:Process returned machines and toolsAssess freight damageDiagnose product failures by: Observing and listening to damaged products, Examining returned parts and machinery, Dismantling products to identify defective components, and Communicating with customers regarding product failuresRepair or replace defective parts, including electrical componentsRealign and adjust components such as bearings, spindles, and electric motorsReassemble and test machines to ensure proper functionalityTools & Equipment:Regularly operate hand tools, power tools, woodworking and metalworking machineryUse forklifts, gear pullers, jacks, cranes, and hoists as neededSystems & Documentation:Use Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Teams) and internal ERP systems to enter, track, and retrieve product, repair, and inventory informationPrepare reports, process returns, and complete batch inspectionsCommunicate effectively through internal systemsProduct Development & Support:Support product development efforts, including building, modifying, and testing prototypesAssist in evaluating new product designs and provide feedback based on hands-on testing and repair experienceFacility & Team Support:Assist with shop organization, equipment maintenance, and facility improvement projectsSupport other departments as neededQualifications & RequirementsMechanical and electrical experienceAbility to read schematicsHigh mechanical aptitudeStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsOrganized and detail-orientedAbility to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentSelf-motivated with the ability to take initiativeBasic to intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Teams) and ability to learn ERP systemsClean driving recordWoodworking or metalworking experience preferredAbility to lift up to 75 lbs. unassistedAbility to stand for extended periodsStrong customer service skillsAbout Our Company:Since our inception in 1983, Grizzly Industrial, Inc.
