Design Manager (Architecture/Construction)

We are seeking experienced Design Managers to support project teams in managing the design process from concept through construction procurement. This role is ideal for professionals who can balance design quality, client expectations, budgets, and timelines while coordinating across multiple stakeholders.Design Managers play a critical role in ensuring that project designs align with the client’s vision, project scope, and financial goals while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist Project Managers with planning, managing, and coordinating all phases of the design process through construction procurement.Ensure design solutions align with the client’s vision, project budget, and schedule.Support identification of user groups and key project decision-makers.Conduct on-site evaluations and assist in developing project scope of work documents.Maintain and update Design Guidelines as required.Ensure all relevant existing drawings, standards, and design documentation are distributed to the Architect/Engineer (A/E) team.Facilitate and track the design review process at each project phase.Perform QA/QC reviews of design drawings at each milestone.Coordinate and incorporate feedback from user groups and Construction Manager at Risk (CMaR) teams.Manage expectations across multiple clients and stakeholders.Report to the Account Director and Senior Project Director.QualificationsPreferred: Illinois Architectural License or Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in architectural design management, construction, or project deliveryStrong experience coordinating multi-phase design projectsAbility to manage multiple stakeholders and client expectationsStrong communication, documentation, and coordination skillsCompensation$60/hourApplication RequirementsCandidates should submit:A strong CV/resumeIllinois architectural license (preferred) or proof of equivalent/relevant experience
