Dental Insurance Biller / Receptionist

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Insurance Biller / Receptionist to join our vibrant dental practice. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and serve as a vital link between clinical operations and insurance processes. Your energetic approach will ensure smooth patient flow, accurate billing, and efficient insurance verification, all while providing exceptional customer service. Duties Greet patients warmly, manage multi-line phone systems, and handle front desk responsibilities with professionalism and enthusiasm Verify patient insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and confirm benefits using systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth Collect and review patient documentation, ensuring accuracy in medical records and billing information Submit dental insurance claims electronically using platforms Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Manage accounts receivable by processing payments, posting insurance payments, and following up on unpaid claims through medical collection procedures Review care plans, documentation, and coding details including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and dental terminology for accuracy Maintain organized filing systems for medical records, insurance forms, and billing documents while adhering to health information management standards Assist with appointment scheduling, patient intake procedures, and general office management tasks to support clinic operations Experience Proven experience in a dental office setting or healthcare administrative environment with a focus on dental billing and coding Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems Strong knowledge of dental terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards Demonstrated ability in dental collection processes and insurance verification techniques Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), dental practice management software Eaglesoft, and multi-line phone systems Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities in bilingual settings preferred Prior Dental Billing experience is a MUST Ability to handle sensitive health information in compliance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining confidentiality Join our team to be part of a fast-paced environment where your organizational skills and dental knowledge will make a real difference!
