They will be responsible for the safe, proper, and efficient maintenance of the facility in accordance with company policies and standards, under the direction of the Maintenance Manager. They will manage and coordinate maintenance activities to include but not be limited to installing, inspecting, testing, repairing, adjusting, and calibrating all plant equipment and instrumentation.ResponsibilitiesPlans, assigns, and supervises the work of the maintenance department during daily operationsResponsible reviewing and ensuring all operating and emergency procedures are being complied with in the Maintenance departmentMakes daily inspections of plant machinery and equipment; inspects ongoing activities for safety and environmental compliance, and for adherence to standard operating proceduresAssign daily work to team based on priority, working with the Operations department on a shift-to-shift basis. Ensure communication is established and consistent with the departments on-call schedule and contact information for specified eventsResponsible for compliance of maintenance department as it relates to required training and additional training requested to improve an employee's developmentSupervises mechanical and E&I maintenance function of plant, in accordance with appropriate company safety and maintenance standards and proceduresSupervises all mechanical and E&I maintenance department activities including, but not limited to preventative, predictive, corrective, emergency, contracted and warranty serviceLeading morning meetings between both teams and working with leads to generate PODs based on operational needsTimecards weekly review and approvalPerformance reviews for team members (semi- annually/ annually- depending on FCC policy)Coordinating weekend works based on priority and plant requirements Outage and project planning with team and outage night lead as requiredBudget planning with management team to ensure plant requirements are properly addressed during current or future budgetary periodsPrepares, authorizes, and schedules completion of work orders for equipment repair and maintenanceSelects, supervises, trains, develops, and evaluates performance of maintenance staffSchedules and monitors performance of all outside contractors to ensure effective, safe plant maintenance and operationCoordinate with Labor Manager to ensure proper working condition of equipment and have all identified issues scheduled for repair in timely manner.Develops and maintains record of plant maintenance, including work orders, P.M., lubrication planning, planned and unplanned outages and inspections. Prepares work orders indicating malfunctions of instruments and authorizes work order requests. Requisitions new parts and instruments. Plans and supervises repair and maintenance during major outagesUtilizes and maintains CMMS in accordance with company policyOversees management of Maintenance Shop. Inspects and tests shop equipment, including new and repaired instruments, to verify dimensions of parts for conformance to quality control standards. Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns dutiesResponsible for maintaining acceptable plant moraleEfficient management of the company's operations standardsAdministers/enforces the lockout/tagout systemFosters and promotes a culture of teamwork between operational staff and all other plant staffProvides daily supervision over assigned staff and is responsible for the preparation of the maintenance shift schedulesCompletes the Corporate and Plant Training Programs within the time frame prescribedEnsures that the facility and all personnel operate safely at all times and promotes an environment whereby safety is a priority. Follows standard safety procedures, corrects safety and environmental hazards. Reads, understands, and implements lockout/tagout, safety rules, job hazard analyses, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsThoroughly and promptly investigates any accidents or near misses in conjunction with the Environmental compliance manager as well as the Health & Safety manager to ensure that any unsafe practices or conditions are addressed and eliminated immediatelyCommunicates clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing; as well as communicates clearly whether using in-situ intercom system, two-way radio, or face to faceAnticipates typical problems, identifies potential or recurring problems, and takes appropriate action.Troubleshoots equipment and assists in diagnosing problem areasMaintain positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers and management.Preferred RequirementsBachelor's or Associates degree from an accredited College or University in a technical field or equivalent desirable3 -- 5 years' experience in a power plant environment or military background1 -- 3 years of supervisory or management experienceKnowledge and understanding of the operation, maintenance and control of a steam generating power plantProficient with Microsoft Software; Excel, Word, Office, etc.Experienced in using CMMSTravel may be required, 0 -- 25%Flexibility to work nights during facility outages or major equipment projects as neededAssist the Maintenance Manager with implementation of a direct effective PM program, lubrication plans, installation, troubleshooting, cleaning, inspecting and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment throughout the facility in a safe and professional manner.Maintain positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers and management.
