Regulatory & Economic Resources Contractor License Representative

Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. One year of clerical or public contact experience is required. Completion of college coursework may substitute for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis. Recruitment Notes The RER Contractor License Representative resides in the Board and Code Administration division of the Regulatory and Economic Resources department of Miami-Dade County. This position involves the issuing, processing, and maintaining of contractor licenses in accordance with County codes and Florida statutes. Key responsibilities include intake, reviewing, and logging contractor license applications; preparing, organizing, and maintaining contractor licensing files; and communicating with applicants and licensees via written and verbal communication. The role also involves conducting research on governmental websites for application processing, operating computer terminals and using various programs to manage information and receiving and reviewing licensing documentation in person or by mail. Additionally, incumbents in this position will update the contractor database system for building permit processing, review and approve or deny sensitive permit applications, and perform background research into licensing records.
