Estimator III

Job DescriptionSUMMARYMortenson is currently seeking an experienced Estimator III with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The Estimator will provide leadership, coordination, and final preparation of full estimates on large and complex work projects.This is a hybrid position and must be based in one of these locations: Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Minneapolis, Denver, Chicago, Milwaukee, NashvilleRESPONSIBILITIESOrganize, plan, and schedule estimate preparationFacilitate necessary meetings (kick-off, status updates, plan flips, final reviews)Assign and adjust work to ensure complete and reliable estimatesIncorporate all relevant information (contract documents, communication with design team and owner, tax laws, permits)Determine trade partner strategy and prepare invitations to bid/budgetObtain and review all relevant documents, including BIMPromote collaboration for comprehensive scope and budget alignmentEnsure completion of changes from estimate reviewsComplete quantity surveys of materials/resourcesUse knowledge of project type and best practices to fill gaps in early design documents QUALIFICATIONS Associate or bachelor's degree in Estimating, Civil or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field experienceMinimum six years construction industry experienceProven ability to organize and manage multiple project tasksFamiliarity with building and estimating techniques and softwareAble to lead multiple projects simultaneouslyProficient in using BIM, plans, and other project documents to quantify workBuilds industry relationships and increases knowledge of all building systemsProven ability to lead teams of estimators on larger projectsDemonstrated ability to use cost history software for micro (unit prices) and macro (building systems) level pricingAble to complete self-performed estimates, including general conditions, analyzing past project data for pricingAbility to travel up to 20% A few benefits offered include: (for Non-Craft & Non-Union Craft working 25+ hours / week)Medical and prescription drug plans that includes no additional cost vision coverageDental plan401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson matchPaid time off, holidays, and other paid leavesEmployer paid Life, AD&D, and disability insuranceNo-Cost mental health tool and concierge with extensive work-life resources The base pay range for this role is $109,300 - $164,000. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%). This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
