LOCATION: Federal Project Site in Honolulu, Hawaii
Must be willing and able to travel to Hawaii and stay for the duration of the project. (Rotation back home will be discussed)
ABOUT THE JOB
The Tepa Companies are seeking Laborers to work onsite at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam supporting an underground/confined space project. Must meet requirements below. Offering competitive pay and benefits. Traveling costs will be covered. Housing and per diem of $100/day will be provided for the duration of the project.
Job Functions:
Identifies and operates hand and power tools as needed, including air hammers, earth tampers, concrete mixers, small mechanical hoists, saws, power drills, skid steers, forklifts, and a variety of other equipment and instruments
Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate possible hazards, including rubble and debris
Signals Equipment Operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of equipment
Assists Electrician with loading, transporting, unloading, and furnishing materials, tools and supplies
Restocks worksite supplies and materials as necessary
Identifies and follows safe working procedures
Identifies and stops unsafe work practices that present imminent danger to themselves and others
Performs other physical labor and responsibilities as assigned, including, but not limited to digging ditches and trenches, backfilling excavations, sealing structural components, measuring and recording areas, unloading and identifying materials, pouring concrete, setting braces to support the sides of excavations, assisting Electricians
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Ability to mobilize quickly and report to the jobsite by September 16th
Ability to pass a required drug screen and background check
Ability to gain access to military installations and facilities
Ability to work in confined spaces
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, and climb
2+ years of general labor construction experience
Some experience operating equipment and hand tools
Some experience with hoisting and rigging
Some experience with surveying and grading
Some experience with medium voltage electrical or pipe laying
Knowledge of safety practices and procedures specific to labor work, including OSHA standards
Ability to listen to and understand information and direction both verbally and in writing
