Validation Engineer

Job Description DescriptionTest Support Oak Brook / Hinkley, the role is less of a traditional software test engineer and more of a hands-on validation engineer supporting Gen 3 precision farming platform. The ideal candidate is comfortable working around agricultural equipment, conducting on-machine testing, validating software changes, and troubleshooting issues in the field.Actalent Services is seeking a Software Test Engineer to support our clients Industrial's next-generation precision agriculture platform. This individual will join a team responsible for validating software and hardware functionality on agricultural equipment including tractors, planters, sprayers, and combines. The role combines software validation, field testing, troubleshooting, and hands-on equipment operation.This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy working with equipment, technology, and solving real-world problems in a hands-on environment.ResponsibilitiesExecute software verification and validation activities for precision agriculture products.Develop and execute test cases for new software features and enhancements.Perform regression, sanity, and verification testing to validate defect fixes.Conduct testing on agricultural equipment including tractors, planters, sprayers, and combines.Support automation validation and machine verification initiatives.Collect logs, analyze system behavior, and assist with troubleshooting software and hardware issues.Document test results, defects, and observations.Collaborate with product development teams to improve software quality and performance.Work both at a test bench environment and directly on agricultural equipment in the field.Travel between two locations that are 30 minutes apart as required to support testing activities.Technologies & Systems TestedPrecision Agriculture SystemsGuidance and GNSS TechnologiesTelematics SolutionsSection Control SystemsMapping ApplicationsUser Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) FeaturesSkillsValidation, Validation protocols, software testingTop Skills DetailsValidation,Validation protocols,software testingExperience LevelIntermediate LeveJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Carol Stream, IL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $46.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
