Salary: $17.36 Hourly Location : Winchester, VA Job Type: Part-time Non-Classified Department: Public Services Department Division: Public Services Refuse & Recycling Opening Date: 05/04/2026 Closing Date: 6/4/2026 5:00 PM Eastern FLSA: Non-ExemptDescriptionDuties and ResponsiblitiesPicks up refuse cans from houses or business establishments and dump into trucks and operates packer equipment Cleans area around cans Directs traffic and guides truck operator in congested areas Cleans refuse truck and equipment Contributes to positive work environment RequirementsEducation and/or Experience: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of ninth grade Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend. Ability to speak, understand, and follow specific oral instructions, and communicate effectively using correct English. Physical Requirements: Continuous heavy manual work at a rapid pace.
