Secondary responsibilities include: Recruiting, Backfilling and Helping the region and the Sales Team, Building the Sales regional Strategy, Devising Sales Tactics, and Selling our HMM services.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIESDevelop plans and strategies for developing business and achieving the company's sales goalsAssist in creating a culture of success and goal achievementManage the Regional Sales Teams and resources to deliver profitable growthAssist in defining optimal sales force structureAssist in hiring and developing sales TeamOversee sales staff compensation and incentive programs that motivate the sales team to achieve their sales targetsPlan and coordinate Regional Sales Training that enable staff to achieve their potential and support company sales objectivesManage customer expectations and contribute to a high level of customer satisfactionAssist in defining sales processes that drive desired sales outcomes and identify improvements where and when requiredPut in place infrastructure and systems to support the success of the sales functionProvide detailed and accurate sales forecastingCompile information and data related to customer and prospect interactionsMonitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functionsWork closely with the marketing function to establish successful support, channel and partner programsManage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunitiesTravel for in-person meetings with customers, attend industry conferences to meet with partners and to develop key relationshipsPerforms other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIESSuccessful experience building a go-to-market strategy and Regional/corporate sales planSuccessful experience building and growing a sales territorySelling ocean services (product/service) to importers /exporters.Closing multi million figure dealsMonitoring and evaluating sales rep progress against stated expectations, in addition to aligning and changing behavior with performance expectationsManaging key customer relationships and closing strategic opportunitiesUtilizing a CRM to manage team sales tasks, pipeline, and closing dataHiring, developing and onboarding sales managers and representativesBuilding and managing a regional territoryProviding status reports with market and customer feedback to the corporate leadership teamDemonstrated ability in all aspects of sales leadershipPC proficiencyLiterate in MS Office Suite and general computer skillsStrong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.Ability to multitask is crucialEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCERequires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field. A Master's in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent senior-level experience is highly preferred.Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales management within a B2B environment, sales operations, business planning, or sales support management.Strong preference for candidates with previous experience in the Ocean Carrier, NVOCC, or BCO sectors.In-depth understanding of the US Export and/or Import market is required. Familiarity with the Southeast USA territory and its specific customer base is preferred.Proven track record of successfully leading and managing analytically rigorous corporate initiatives from conception to execution.Demonstrated experience in managing and leading teams, with a focus on professional development and achieving collective targets.Prior experience in Sales or Trade with a documented and consistent track record of success in meeting or exceeding organizational goals.ENVIRONMENT / EQUIPMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDSWork performed in an office environment where the noise level is moderate. Regularly required to stand, sit, and walk around the office. Frequently required to work on a computer.
