Manager of FP&A- Remote
A growing private‐equity‐backed organization is seeking a Manager of FP&A to support its expanding portfolio of brand locations and enterprise growth initiatives. This is a newly created role as the company continues to invest in building a high‐caliber finance organization to support scale, performance, and disciplined growth.The finance team is a small, close‐knit group of high‐performing finance and accounting professionals who bring best‐in‐class experience from mid‐to large‐scale organizations into a fast‐moving growth environment. This role reports to the Director of FP&A, who is based in the Chicago area and we recently placed as part of the company's continued investment in finance leadership.The Manager of FP&A will serve as a key finance business partner to General Managers across brand locations, supporting forecasting, profitability analysis, and performance against targets, while also contributing to enterprise‐level analysis across the broader network of companies.This position is remote‐based with approximately 15–20% travel to brand locations and a Midwest headquarters. The role is intentionally focused on Chicago‐area candidates due to leadership presence, local brand density, and centralized access across the organization's footprint.Key Responsibilities FP&A Support for Brand Locations Partner directly with General Managers and field leadership to support forecasting, budgeting, and performance management at the brand and location level. Ensure leaders understand financial expectations, performance drivers, and progress against targets.Profitability & Performance Analysis Analyze profitability, cost drivers, and operational performance across locations. Provide insights to help leadership identify opportunities for improvement, efficiency, and sustainable growth.Business Partnering & Financial Communication Act as a trusted finance partner to both field and corporate stakeholders. Translate financial results into clear, actionable insights tailored to a range of audiences, from operational leaders to senior management.Support company‐wide financial analysis related to growth initiatives, trends, and performance across the broader network of companies. Contribute to strategic and ad hoc projects that inform investment, expansion, and operational decisions.Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and analytical tools using advanced Excel skills. Operate in a highly hands‐on capacity, building analyses from the ground up in a lean, high‐impact finance environment.Qualifications5+ years of progressive FP&A or related finance experienceExposure to project‐based accounting, project analysis, or manufacturing costing strongly valuedStrong core FP&A skills including forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modelingAdvanced Excel skills and willingness to be very hands‐onExcellent communication skills with the ability to adapt to both field‐based and corporate business partnersDemonstrated history of job stability, progression within organizations, and increasing responsibilityStrong educational background and experience with reputable companies preferredSelf‐starter mindset with comfort operating independently while collaborating with a high‐performing teamRemote‐based role with approximately 15–20% travel to brand locations and Midwest headquarters. Travel will include visits to both coastal locations and the Midwest.
