Front of House Lead

Coyote Sonoma is looking for a dedicated Front of the House Lead to help oversee the operations of the bar, dining room, patio and event space Thursdays-Saturdays! This is a three day per week position, Thursday-Saturday. Nights are required. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Seeks opportunities and incorporates creative ways to incorporate Wilson Artisan Wines into restaurant and bar environment. Coordinates with bands on show advance and follows up on post-show payments. Executes private events—setup, breakdown, coordination with event guests and planners. Coordinates with General Manager for ordering supplies, performing inventory, opening, closing, scheduling, serving guests, cleaning and cashiering. Ensures that all staff members are properly trained in safe work practices. Upholds and enforces all Company policies and procedures. Demonstrates a professional, guest-focused demeanor at all times. Intervenes and resolves guest concerns and/or complaints. Coordinates with General Manager regarding the training and development of staff. Establishes service standards and provides training regarding our wine, menu, product knowledge, opening/closing and side work. Ensures that all staff members receive ongoing education and training regarding wine, wine sales, and club recruitment. Performs regular, candid coaching and performance management. Coordinates with General Manager on all weekly promotions, wine and food pairings and menu development, including Beer and Wine Lists. Coordinates with General Manager regarding all events Operates the bar and dining areas in compliance with all applicable local, state and federal regulations. Ensures that the front of the house is compliant with all sanitation regulations. Oversees cleaning and maintenance services. Ensures that all cash drawers are properly balanced at the end of each shift and any discrepancies are documented. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age. Proven, successful track record of bar, restaurant, and event operations. In-depth knowledge and appreciation of wine. Proven ability to successfully promote the business using outreach, social media, etc. Able to effectively manage and motivate teams. Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak clearly and confidently with guests. Interpersonal awareness, relationship management and influencing skills. Intermediate or advanced skills in Microsoft Office, POS systems and Social Media. Ability to diffuse tense situations and resolve conflicts. Able to work Thursday-Saturday, including nights, occasional Sundays and special events. Able to effectively delegate responsibilities and maximize resources. Able to work well as part of a team and also independently Able to obtain (within 60 days of hire) and maintain a Responsible Beverage Server and Safe Food Handler certification.. Able to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of three years of the same or similar work experience. Advanced, hands-on knowledge regarding successful bar and event operations. Wine/beer and food pairing experience highly desirable. Language Skills: Fluent in English in both oral and written formats. Multi-lingual preferred. Able to communicate in a professional and effective manner at all times. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Able to prepare, monitor and adhere to budgets. Computer Skills: Intermediate or advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, POS systems and social media. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee must work in while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly working in an event, taproom, tasting bar, restaurant and patio environment. The noise level is usually moderate and will rise during special events. The employee is required to stand, move, and walk for prolonged periods of time. The employee must be able to squat, lift, move, carry and stack 60 pounds on a repetitive basis, climb stairs, set up/break down tables and chairs.
