Manufacturing Engineer

Position Summary
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer supports customer programs from quotation through production in a regulated manufacturing environment. This role serves as a technical link between customers, engineering, manufacturing, and quality, with a focus on manufacturability, cost, and production readiness. This role is well-suited for an early-to-mid career engineer who enjoys working in a hands-on sheet metal fabrication environment and is comfortable balancing desk-based engineering work with regular shop floor engagement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Quoting & Costing
Support cost estimation and quoting activities for new and existing customer programs
Interpret customer drawings, specifications, and 3D models to evaluate manufacturability and cost drivers
Assist in developing labor and run-time estimates in collaboration with programmers and manufacturing personnel
Gather pricing for raw materials, purchased components, and outside processing
Engineering & Documentation
Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and job travelers
Generate and revise SolidWorks models and drawings, including flat patterns and manufacturing notes
Ensure engineering documentation aligns with AS9100 / ISO quality requirements and supports repeatable production
Support laser and turret punch programming efforts, including Amada 4i, with the expectation of developing independent programming capability following training
Manufacturing & Quality Support
Provide day-to-day engineering support on the shop floor for fabrication, forming, welding, and assembly operations
Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) and design review activities
Support investigations of nonconformances and assist with corrective actions as needed
Follow and support compliance with ITAR requirements, including proper handling of controlled technical data
Continuous Improvement
Identify and implement process and design improvements under the guidance of senior engineers and leadership
Support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) efforts with customers and internal teams
Assist with standardization of engineering processes, documentation, and best practices
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline
5–7 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, showing progression and enhanced responsibilities
Background in sheet metal fabrication or other manufacturing disciplines strongly preferred
Working knowledge of AS9100 / ISO-based quality systems - Quality Experience in an Aerospace & Defense environment highly desirable
Proficiency with SolidWorks and Microsoft Office 365

Compensation Target
$85,000 - $105,000 - The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
