Materials Buyer

Job Description SmartHire is looking for a Product Buyer to join a client in Fife, WA. This is full time, direct hire and fully onsite. The ideal candidate will have experience working in multifamily construction industry or similar.Product BuyerLocation: Fife, WASalary: up to $90k DOE + benefits + PTO, 401k, growth and advancementSchedule : M-F flex start between 6am – 8am – 8 hours a day – fully onsiteIndustry: ConstructionPosition SummaryThe Product Buyer is responsible for sourcing materials, hardware, and products needed to support manufacturing and operational goals. This role manages vendor relationships, negotiates pricing, monitors inventory levels, and ensures timely procurement to support production schedules.The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and experienced in purchasing within a construction-related or similar environment.Responsibilities· Source and purchase materials, hardware, and related products· Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms with vendors· Maintain strong supplier relationships and evaluate vendor performance· Monitor inventory levels and forecast purchasing needs· Collaborate with production, warehouse, and operations teams· Ensure purchase orders are accurate and processed on time· Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards· Resolve issues related to shortages, delays, or product quality· Maintain accurate purchasing records within ERP systems· Assist with inventory audits and cycle countsRequired:· 3+ years of purchasing or buying experience· Experience in manufacturing, construction materials, or related industries preferred· Strong negotiation and communication skills· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems· Excellent organizational and time management abilities· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environmentPreferred:· Experience with doors, millwork, hardware, or building materials· Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related fieldSmartTalent is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Company Description SmartTalent is your regional Staffing and Recruiting expert and we have the resources to help you with your job search and get you working.
