Lead Java Software Engineer
For our client, we are seeking a Lead Java Software Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will guide the design and delivery of backend services and APIs that support enterprise payment solutions. The position focuses on scalable Java-based architecture, modern development practices, and dependable production operation in a highly regulated industry. You will partner closely with technical and business stakeholders to build customer-focused solutions that perform reliably at scale. The role also includes driving engineering quality through strong coding standards, testing discipline, and continuous delivery practices.
Location: Remote
Compensation: $100,000 – $170,500 annually
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs for enterprise payment solutions Participate in Agile ceremonies to support team improvement and efficiency Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver customer-focused technical solutions Contribute to the architecture and operation of scalable microservices and distributed systems Adhere to engineering best practices in coding and testing Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable software delivery Monitor and troubleshoot applications in production environments
Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in software development with Java and J2EE technologies, especially with Spring frameworks Strong background in designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices architectures Solid understanding of object-oriented design and software development patterns Experience with relational databases, including schema design and SQL development Familiarity with automated testing and Test Driven Development principles using tools like JUnit and Selenium Hands-on experience with CI/CD practices using tools such as GitHub and Jenkins Proficiency in deploying and operating containerized applications with Kubernetes or Docker
