Engineering Co-Op
This Co-Op would work with the AddUp engineering team to learn and refine skill sets like material testing/development, design for additive manufacturing, and general problem solving and apply them to real projects that utilize Laser Powder Bed Fusion. They would regularly work on project-specific material characterization as well as a short capstone project in their downtime.Degree ProgramMust be pursuing a 4-year degree in materials, mechanical, or metallurgical engineering (or equivalent)Has completed at least 1-3 years of that degree programCourseworkRequired: Introduction to Materials (Structures/Properties of Materials), Engineering Math/Calculus 1, Introduction to Chemistry, and a laboratory class (all of these or equivalent)Desired: Material Testing Principles/Lab, Metallography, Physics, Thermodynamics, Mechanics of Materials, Basic Design PrinciplesSkills (not All Required, But a Plus)Metallography and optical microscopyMaterial testingTensileHardnessRoughnessMicrostructureEtc.Good written/oral communication skillsAdditive manufacturing experienceTraditional manufacturing experienceWelding experienceHand toolsDesign principles (DFM/DFAM)SolidWorks or equivalentDimensional testing experience (calipers, micrometers, blue light scanning)Technical presentations/communicationOther Preferences (not Required, But a Plus)US Citizen
