We are looking for team members that demonstrate these values both at work and in our personal lives.SAFETY | CAN-DO-ATTITUDE | URGENCY | PASSION |INTEGRITY |TEAMWORK | COMMUNITYIs this you?If you want a position to accelerate your career growth, and one where you can make a real impact on our people, our customers, and the business, this is the role for you!Job Description\n\nWelds metal parts together using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes.\nPerform related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding.\nRepairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes, and welds overlay metal parts.\nMay locate cracks using die penetrant NDT methods and repair cracks in large fabrications.\nPositions and sets up components in preparation for weld repairs and/or fabrication.\nLays out parts and assemblies according to specifications. Creates templates and other work aids to hold and align parts. Able to rig (cranes) and fixture parts to be welded.\nWelds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions and adjusts amperage, voltage, and speed during joining to assure required weld deposit.\nInspects grooves, angles, gap allowances, and related aspects of assembly to ensure conformance to specifications using micrometers, calipers, and related precision measuring instruments.\nPre-heat parts for effective welding.\nPerform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards, using a variety of inspection tools and devices.\n\nQualifications\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nAbility to read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, engineering drawings, bill of materials, and other written instructions or procedures.\nAbility to use industry standards for proper equipment set-up and efficient use.\nFamiliar with welding gases and appropriate uses to determine type of welding to be used, such as metallic arc, inert gas, electrode, and oven treatment, applying knowledge of metals to be joined, contours and angles to be formed, and specified stress tolerances.\nAbility to work with typical shop equipment and power tools and operate overhead cranes and fork trucks with proficiency.\nAbility to inspect welded joints, grooves, angles, gap allowances, and related aspects of assembly to ensure conformance to specifications using micrometers, calipers, and related precision measuring instruments.\nAbility to check over engineering drawings and specifications to plan welding operations.\nMust be proficient in using and adjusting MIG welders to the proper amperage and voltage for welding with various sizes of flux core wire.\nMust be able to handle tasks involving moderate physical exertion and must be able to stoop, bend, twist, and climb while working in confined areas at times.\nMust be able to wear a positive-pressure welding hood if or when required.\nMust be able to proficiently achieve time and quality standards without compromising welding safety standards.\nMust be capable of operating overhead cranes to position or move work pieces.\nMust be able to demonstrate basic welding skills during initial test which requires vertical and horizontal multiple-pass fillet welding on a small scale with 1/16 inch and 3/32 inch flux core and solid welding wire.\nMust be able to interpret welding prints to determine what type of weld the prints require and where the weld is to be placed.\nMust know what type of weld wire is used on different metals and what type of gas is used with the various welding wires.\nMust be able to read a tape measure and read blueprints.\nMust be able to use air, power, and hand tools, especially a torch and grinder.\nBe mechanically including and able to gather an analyze relevant information, and coordinate work with other team members.\nBe able to function independently within the context of the team's day-to-day activities.\nAble to properly pre-heat parts for effective welding and stress relieve finished components.\nWork in a safe manner at all times, following established policies and procedures.\nMust provide own welder's tools and equipment of the trade to perform duties.\n\nRequired Education and Experience\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\n2-5 years' experience with stick, TIG, and MIG welding in a manufacturing environment.\nHeavy cross-section welding experience a plus.\n\nAdditional Information\nThe benefits of joining our teamBecause we seek to hire the best people, we work hard to provide benefits that make their lives better, so we offer a comprehensive benefit program which features:\nHealth coverage for you and your family through medical, dental and vision plans\n401(k) plan in with a generous company match\nFinancial protection through disability, life, and accidental death & dismemberment insurance plans\nTax advantages through flexible spending accounts that allow you to pay for specific health-care and dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars\nGenerous paid time off program in which the benefits increase along with your tenure with the company\n\nWhen you join our team, you do more than simply switch companies to progress your career.
