Adjunct FacultyMASTERS EDUCATION COURSESPosition SummaryThe School of Education is seeking an adjunct faculty member or faculty members to teach the following courses:Fall Courses:EDL 741 Principalship PK-12: A course designed to examine the theory, practice, and dimensions of educational leadership. Students examine administrative practices, complete a thorough investigation and reflective analysis of their own leadership qualities, and demonstrate the ability to solve organizational issues based on best practices. Current leadership theories are evaluated in light of Christian principles.Fall and Spring Courses:EDL 791 Action Research Project: A course designed to guide an action research process implemented in a school environment. The major objective is to conduct an actual intervention that is developed to improve the robustness of a school. Students identify an issue, research potential solutions, carry out the intervention, assess the intervention's success, and make recommendations for the future.EDU 791 Instructional Design Project: A course that prepares students to complete the instructional design project by presenting the process of instructional design and facilitating all stages of project design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Students write chapters 1-5 of their culminating project and prepare the instructional and participant materials for three hours of presentation.Fall and Summer Courses:EDU 713 Educational Research: A course that includes the study and application of methods used to design, execute, report, and evaluate educational research using current technology. This course is an integral part of the writing and research process for the Instructional Design Project (EDU 791) and Action Research Project (EDL 791).As Needed Courses:EDL 799 Continuing Studies: A course designed for students who need more than one semester to complete EDL 791 Action Research Project.EDU 799 Continuing Studies: A course designed for students who need more than one semester to complete EDU 791 Instructional Design Project.Other duties include working with the Dean and faculty to keep track of student success data.Required Education and ExperienceCandidates must have a master's degree in education or a related field. Teaching experience is required.Serving at Cairn UniversityLocated in Langhorne, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Cairn University exists to educate students to serve Christ in the church, society, and the world as biblically minded, well-educated and professionally competent men and women of character.
