Privacy & Product Counsel (REMOTE)

For our client, we are seeking a Privacy & Product Counsel (remote) to join the team of a leader in the Retail & Consumer Goods space. This role will lead initiatives at the intersection of scalable technology, AI-enabled capabilities, and business transformation. You will work across engineering, product, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and long-term innovation within a consumer-facing environment.Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship availableCompensation: $175,000 – $225,000 annuallyResponsibilities Advise on compliance with global privacy laws, such as CCPA/CPRA, GDPR Provide business-centric guidance on data usage and protection across products Support the creation and maintenance of privacy-related policies and governance standards Assist in data incident management and regulatory notifications Collaborate with product and technology teams to integrate privacy considerations during product development Review and assess new products and technologies from a privacy perspective Negotiate privacy terms in commercial agreements and manage third-party vendor complianceQualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school Licensed to practice law in the United States Minimum 6-9 years of legal experience focused on privacy and data protection Experience providing product counseling for technical teams is essential Combination of law firm and in-house experience preferred; background in consumer-facing or global tech enterprises is a plus IAPP Certifications (CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM) are desirable Strong ability to convey complex legal requirements in clear terms to different audiencesBenefits Remote work flexibility Comprehensive health and wellness program 401(k) plan with company matching Paid time off and holidays Professional development opportunitiesOur client is an equal opportunity employer.
