Painter, 2nd Shift - The Toro Company
Painter I is responsible for operating equipment to apply high-quality coatings to parts, including mixing paint, cleaning, and performing preventive maintenance on paint systems. Ensures high-quality finishes, maintains equipment, and adheres to safety and environmental standards. What Will You Do?Prepare and mix paint according to specifications, including the use of thinners and additives as required Set up and adjust powder coating materials to meet production and quality standards. Operate and calibrate paint equipment to ensure consistent application and high-quality finish. Perform detailed touch-up work on areas not accessible by automated paint systems to maintain finish integrity. Maintain clean and organized work areas in alignment with world-class manufacturing standards. Consistently meet or exceed quality and productivity expectations within the paint department. Ensure product finish quality, monitor production lines, and conduct daily area audits. Notify the utility team or supervisor of any quality or equipment-related issues. Communicate with conveyor loaders regarding hanging techniques to ensure optimal paint coverage and quality. Consistently maintain safe working conditions and promote a culture of safety. Clean, inspect, and maintain wet spray and powder coating equipment to ensure optimal performance. Safely handle, store, and label hazardous materials and waste in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines. Contribute and participate in continuous improvement activities. Other duties as assigned. What Do You Need?High school diploma or GED, required. Prior experience manufacturing painting, preferred. Read and comprehend procedures, operator and safety manuals, etc. Strong verbal and written communication skills General computer proficiency, including the ability to navigate MS Office and other company systems. Must successfully complete a painting skills test. Must meet all respiratory protection equipment policy requirements. Strong interpersonal skills in working with a variety of cross-functional teams.
