The Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) works under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or other medical staff and is responsible for assisting nurses by following written and/or oral instructions to administer medications and document drug dosages and times of administration.

Must have completed a state approved training program in medication administration and have current QMA certification by the Indiana State Department of Health. The QMA is responsible for providing the medication administration, daily care, health needs, safety and comfort of the residents.

The Med Care Manager/QMAP must administer, pour, pass, and document all routinely prescribed medications per physician orders under the direction of the Wellness Director and as approved by the State Medication Administration Regulations.
