- Under the Leadership of the Administrative Director of Ambulatory Services, the Wound Care Resource Specialist is responsible for educating staff regarding risk assessment, pressure ulcer prevention, and appropriate wound care.
- The Wound Care Nurse assists with recommending treatment plans for patients, complex wounds, and/or orders for wound care consults.
- The Wound Care Nurse acts as a resource to the staff and provides up-to-date information on wound care policies and procedures (Works as a resource nurse as needed to patients with ostomies).
- The Wound Care Nurse is able to interact on a professional basis with all team members and is able to understand and react effectively to the unique needs of patients in reference to specific age groups.
- The Wound Care Nurse demonstrates knowledge and support of the unit specific standards of care.
