- The Windows Desktop Security Engineer is a member of the ITSS Desktop Engineering team and serves a security liaison between Desktop Engineering and other ITSS teams including Service Desk, Desktop Support, Networking, Data Center, Applications, and Cyber Security.
- The position is also responsible for maintaining various endpoint management products including Palo Alto Cortex XDR (formerly Traps), McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO), Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manger (SCCM/MECM), Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), and Flexera Software Vulnerability Manager (SVM) infrastructure.
- As a member of the Desktop Engineering team, the candidate will participate in troubleshooting and resolving of third level trouble calls from the Service Desk. Some off hours work (typically 1 Saturday morning every 3rd month) to patch the NETL Citrix environment during designated preventative maintenance windows.
- Experience with Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manger (SCCM/MECM), Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), or similar endpoint management solution is required.
- Familiarity with federal security standards such as National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) is preferred
