- Supervises the operation, maintenance, overhaul and repair of a Class II, III, or IV wastewater treatment plant and lower classed plants, as well as related tributary pumping plants, equipment and facilities through subordinate supervisors; and performs other related duties as required.
- This level is characterized by its primary responsibility for supervising through a subordinate level of supervision, all operational, maintenance, overhaul and repair activities at a Class IV wastewater treatment plant, as rated by the State Board of Certification of Operating Personnel in Wastewater Treatment Facilities.
- Grade IV: A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high school, and four and one-half (4-1/2) years of work experience in the operation and maintenance of a Grade III or higher level wastewater treatment plant, six (6) months of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity.
- Possession of the applicable Hawaii Mandatory Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certificate and possession of a valid Hawaii State driver's license (Type 3).
