What you will be doing <ul> <li>Monitors workplace activities to ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations. </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Inspects work areas daily to identify and address safety hazards (e.g. broken and damaged equipment, slip and fall hazards, and other potential hazards). </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Implements safety policies to reduce accident-related costs and prevent losses due to a decline in productivity. </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Participates in ergonomic assessments and ongoing awareness of development of ergonomic awareness. </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Trains and coaches' employees on safety and compliance topics. Solicits feedback to improve existing programs or create new ones. </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Conducts investigations when workplace accidents occur. Determines the cause of the accident, completes required documentation providing detailed information, notifies the appropriate parties and provides recommendations to help prevent future accidents. </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Schedules and supervises shipping/receiving associates. </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Controls production standards, accuracy of shipments and receiving, using proper accuracy programs and systems. </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Maintains daily production and accuracy records. </li> </ul> Main responsibilities <ul> <li>Processes store returns and return to vendors using proper Company policies. </li> <li>Coordinates with Inventory Control associates regarding slotting, product rotation and space allocation. </li> <li>Conducts daily crew meeting to discuss safety, productivity and accuracy. </li> <li>Communicates with Transportation on the flow and receipt of backhauls. </li> <li>Supervises scheduling of inbound load appointments. </li> <li>Responsible to sign for, sort and distribute inbound, overnight carrier and mail service deliveries. </li> <li>Walks warehouse daily, with Superintendent, to ensure that safety, security, sanitation and pest control codes, laws, and policies and government regulations are maintained. </li> <li>Ensures the most economical and efficient use of equipment and personnel to accomplish assigned work. </li> </ul> What we are searching for <ul> <li>Possess strong general knowledge of all warehousing operations, with prior work experience to include lead person or supervisory duties, preferably with the Company. </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Possess good supervisory skills and the ability to work with and through others to achieve desired results. </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Possess good communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to read and interpret computerized reports. </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Requires the analytical ability to handle administrative duties and mental alertness to ensure accurate, safe, and thorough completion of work activities.
