- I Heart Oakland Alameda Estuary is a fiscally sponsored project of the Oakland Parks and Recreation Foundation founded by concerned citizen, Mary Spicer, who has united local citizens, community groups, companies, and city officials to clean up shoreline storm debris and raise awareness about protecting waterways and wildlife.
- Every year, tons of trash and debris are washed up on the shoreline beaches after intense and ever-increasing storms that endanger wildlife habitat, water quality, and ecological health.
- We invite the community on a Grand-Garbage-Go-Getting-Adventure, to connect with nature, protect and clean our waterways, and love our land while having FUN. We have cleanup teams working "On the Water" via kayak and stand-up paddle board and "On the Land" via foot.
- East Bay Rowing Club
- We'll have cleanup teams working "On the Water" clean estuary beaches via kayak and SUP and "On the Land" walking the park and shore.
