- The Upholstery Technician 1 assists with removals, installs, fabricates or refurbishes aircraft interiors, which may include items such as trim, carpet, cabinetry, seats, upholstery, panels and other items in compliance with all regulations, including FAA, OSHA safety and EPA.This position is for a highly energetic individual with good people skills and decision-making metrics.
- Work with fabric, vinyl and leather hides, composites and other materials using specified adhesives, sewing equipment, hardware, hand tools and various power tools
- Attention to detail: Upholstery work requires precision and attention to detail, particularly when working with delicate materials such as leather or suede.
- Safety awareness: Upholstery work may involve the use of chemicals and potentially hazardous materials, so an Upholstery Technician should be aware of safety protocols and regulations.
- Relevant education or training: Candidates with a degree or certificate in aircraft upholstery or a related field, such as automotive or marine upholstery.
