- The University Police Officer performs law enforcement functions on University property necessary to protect the life, well-being, and property of students, faculty, staff, visitors, dignitaries, and others through policing, patrol, event security, and investigation.
- They understand access control systems, and circulation and safety systems; effect arrests, and provide emergency response as outlined in General Orders and Special Orders, as directed by superior officers, and as proscribed in the Consortium of Universities Law Enforcement Training Academy (or equivalent) and other departmental trainings; and support the University community by providing information and assistance.
- Directly responsible to the Police Sergeant for fulfilling duties assigned, the University Police Officer performs patrol functions and specialized assignments in accordance with all special and general orders in the protection of life and property at Georgetown University.
