- To provide the optimal type and level of acute and intermediate mental healthcare for those individuals who meet the criteria for admission to and continued care in the Geriatric Program at SWVMHI. The Geriatric Program seeks to provide these services in a caring professional, trauma-informed and recovery-oriented environment.
- Must have considerable knowledge of behavioral health diagnosis group and individual treatment techniques, ability to provide services that are best practice, trauma-informed and recovery-oriented environment utilizing a customer service mindset in which individuals, families, community, and fellow providers are all viewed as customer groups.
- Must have the ability to work in a secure and locked environment with individuals who are experiencing acute symptoms of mental illness and/or additional forensic/legal involvement.
- Strongly prefer bachelor’s degree in human services, mental health, substance abuse, or developmental disabilities, or graduation from high school with college bachelor’s level coursework and a combination of relevant training and experience.
- Previous experience providing therapeutic activity, social, or leisure services with services with inpatient individuals with mental illness, substance abuse, and developmental disabilities desired.
