- Traffic Service Technicians work in collaboration with other city departments, community groups, and residents to address traffic concerns, solicit feedback on initiatives that enhance safety and convenience for all road users, and respond to emergency situations such as traffic signal malfunctions to restore traffic flow.
- Fabricates traffic signs, street markers and other municipal signs using reflective and non-reflective sheeting, photography and silk screening process, computerized letter cutter and hear applicator.
- Assists in maintaining and installing traffic signal equipment.
- Performs line work in the installation of signals and controls.
- Sets up, tests and assists in the repairs and overhaul of controllers, detectors, and other electrical and electronic control equipment in a shop, including solid state equipment, radar, sonic, magnetic loop, and proximitor amplifiers.
