- Incumbents are responsible for a variety of tasks involved in troubleshooting, testing, maintaining, installing, and repairing equipment within an assigned area, with primary focus on rotating equipment.
- A certain degree of self-direction is expected to complete routine and non-routine work.
- Perform routine testing, inspection, and maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all assigned mainline and facility equipment/systems, including but not limited to: pumps (centrifugal & positive displacement pumps, compressors, gear boxes, electric motors, piping systems, valves, actuators, fans, blowers, and similar other equipment and systems.
- Examples include: working with team members to identify areas of unacceptable vibration, conducting vibration analyses, and recommending corrective action(s); ensuring overhauls of equipment are conducted as necessary; troubleshooting (and then remedying) issues with pumps, VCU/VRU/flare, additive systems/panels, seals, rack equipment, etc.
- Responsibilities may include Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline.
