- The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience leading a full-spectrum communications and partner engagement team that provides strategic advice to regional leaders and enhances regional program delivery through traditional and social media relations, photography, videography and creative services, congressional, intergovernment and international affairs, as well as private sector and community partner collaboration in all phases of emergency management.
- Developing and implementing strategies to establish, maintain, and enhance relationships with congressional, tribal, federal, state, and local government officials, media, private sector organizations.
- Developing, overseeing, and maintaining operational readiness for Emergency Support Function in the region and field offices, serving as the region's senior External Affairs advisor to disaster preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation activities.
- Acting as the primary liaison with congressional, tribal, federal, state and local government officials, media, private sector, and related stakeholder organizations and associations, as well as relevant task forces, work groups.
- All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description.
